Buddy Holly - Weezer
One of my favorite bands from the 90's is Weezer. Their first album had a big influence on me. I loved the sound of their crunchy guitars and their poppy melodies. I also loved the vocal harmonies and the tasteful guitar solos. Buddy Holly is a perfect example. It's got it all. The song structure is classic pop all the way: verse, pre-chorus, chorus, instrumental, verse, pre-chorus, chorus, bridge, solo, chorus. The only slight oddity is that the song has no intro. The vocal melodies are absolutely infectious and the song has a great little guitar solo. Click on the photo below to download a PDF of the chords and structure. Please note, the guitars in this song are in Eb tuning (all strings are tuned down a half step.)
