LESSONS

My Method:

I tailor my lessons to each student's individual needs. I have a solid method that has been developed over the past fifteen years which includes technique, chord exercises, reading and theory. As well, there is a strong emphasis on learning songs, especially songs the student likes. I also work on improvisation, songwriting and recording.

Private and semi-private guitar, bass and ukulele lessons are available.

I am located in Montreal but I also teach online using Zoom.

My Focus:

When I started playing music, the first thing I wanted to do was play with other people and start a band. For me, practicing alone at home was just a means to an end. The real fun began when I played with others. I want my students to experience this and so I have made it the main focus of my teaching. All my students, whether they are 7 or 70, are given the opportunity each year to play in a band and perform live on stage at my end of year student show. This year will be my 22nd Live From The Garage event. As well, for those students who are interested in playing in a band full time, in 2017 I started the NDG Music School, which offers group "Jam session" classes.

"

I strongly suggest Jon, He sparked my love for music and teaches with

A VERY DEDICATED AND CALM APPROACH."

"

I don't think the experience with Jon can compare to any other instructor or school.

I DIDN'T JUST LEARN HOW TO PLAY GUITAR BETTER, I BECAME INVOLVED IN BANDS, PLAYED IN SHOWS, WROTE AND RECORDED MY OWN SONGS,

and to this day still collaborate with Jon on multiple projects."
